Qrank it up, Springfield!

Those of you with iPhones or Facebook accounts have access to the addictive and competitive (and free) trivia game, Qrank (pronounced “Crank”).  Every day is a new opportunity to face off against your friends and other local players in a 15 question quiz on entertainment, literature, science, business, sports, and current events.

The game itself is great.  Really interesting and fun questions, catchy soundtrack, slick animations, and fun graphics make the app feel like a gameshow.  Ultimately though, it’s about the bragging rights.  Beating your friends at Qrank will become a task on your daily to-do list as soon as you try the game.  Even better, you can aspire to beat everyone in town, the state, the country, and even everyone in the world (if you can somehow overcome the masses of idiot cheaters).

Do yourself a favor, iPhone and Facebook users.  Go set up a Qrank account and start your addiction today.  And let me know when you do so I can add you to my friends list.

Oh, and if you need even more bragging rights, you could always get in on the Quiz League II action.

UPDATE: If you found this page by Googling “How to cheat at Qrank”, please let me know how you find that fun or satisfying.  You’re ruining a good thing.  Stop it.

Not that I would do it, but how do people cheat at QRank?

The method most used is setting up two accounts, playing on one, logging in with the other, and answering questions you’ve just seen. The fun seems to wear off quickly for the cheaters, so it’s not a huge problem locally but it makes it hard to win among the national ranks.

If there was money involved, that would be worse than mulligans.
